Refrigerant Leak Repairs

A heatpump should not normally require its refrigerant to be “topped up.” The refrigerant operates within a sealed system. If the system has lost refrigerant, there is normally a leak somewhere that needs to be located and repaired.

Low refrigerant can cause poor heating and cooling performance, icing, increased running time and eventually further damage to the system. Where refrigerant loss is suspected, we can investigate the cause and advise on the appropriate repair. Simply adding more refrigerant without addressing the leak is not a proper long-term repair.
